HSPD Official Report on Helen Street Shooting

On May 11, 2016 at approximately 2:25 pm the Hot Springs Police Department received numerous 911 calls in reference to a shooting in the area of Helen Street.   Responding Officer’s located one victim near the scene who had been shot and that victim was transported to an area hospital by ambulance.  Officers secured the scene and located numerous shell casings in the area of 110 Helen Street.
A short time later, HSPD was notified of two other shooting victims at National Park Medical Center. The victims at National Park Medical Center had been driven there by private vehicles.  Detectives responded to National Park Hospital and contacted two male victims along with several witnesses.  Subsequent to investigation, Jimmy Harris was taken into custody at 110 Helen Street without incident. Harris is charged with three counts of Battery in the First Degree and five counts of Aggravated Assault. Harris’ bond is set at $27,500.
Detectives are currently processing the crime scene and interviewing other persons of interest. All three victims appear to have non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
