Aggravated Robbery Press Release

Aggravated Robbery
On February 12, 2018 at approximately 12:27 pm, two suspects robbed the two owners of the Valero, located at 3228 Central Avenue. The owners had just exited the Valero with the stores deposits. The suspects, who were armed with handguns approached the owners and forcibly took an undisclosed amount of cash from them.
HSPD Officer Richard Nunez was patrolling in the area of Central and Crawford and heard one of the victims scream. Officer Nunez then saw a GMC Acadia fleeing the area. Officer Nunez began to pursue the GMC Acadia and observed it stop between Pro Signs and Graphics (110 Crawford Drive) and Colton’s Steak House (120 Crawford Drive). As Officer Nunez pulled behind the GMC Acadia, he saw one suspect fleeing on foot.
Multiple HSPD officers responded to the area and set up a perimeter. One person, who matched the suspect description was located in the area. That person was detained, but is not being named at this time.

On 4/28/17, just after 2am officers responded to a welfare check in the 4300 block of Central Avenue in reference to a person lying in the street. Upon arrival officers located a deceased female in the southbound lane. At this time it is unknown what occurred. The incident is currently being investigated as possibly being traffic related and more information will be released when it becomes available.
The identity of the female is not being released pending notification of next of kin. Anyone having any information should call the Hot Springs Police Department at 501-321-6789.


Tonight, through a joint effort with the Garland County Sheriff Department and the Hot Springs Police Department, at 9:55pm Stephon Harris (DOB: 04/16/96) turned himself in to authorities without incident. The police department appreciates the community’s tips and information that we received concerning this investigation during the past week.

HSPD on the Look Out for Runaway (Press Release)

The Hot Springs Police Department is attempting to locate a runaway juvenile, Hayleigh Hathcock (W/F, 05/24/00). Hathcock was originally listed as a runaway out of Saline County and was located in Hot Springs on 05/01/20016. Hathcock was transported to the Garland County Juvenile Detention Center, however she fled from the Juvenile Detention Center’s lobby and has not been not been found since then. Due to Hayleigh’s social media activity, it is believed she may be with relatives in the Donaldson or Malvern, Arkansas area.
Hayleigh is described as a white female approximately 5’05”, 170lbs, with a heavy build, long blonde hair in a ponytail, nose ring, and a lip ring. Hayleigh was last seen wearing pink pajama type pants with black designs and a pink T-shirt. Shooting at Wade St. Park (Video)

On May 5, 2016 at approximately 11:00 a.m., a 17 year male was shot while he was at the Wade Street Park, located at 300 Wade Street in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The juvenile victim stated he was at the park and was approached by two black males who attempted to rob him. The juvenile victim stated one of the black male suspects shot him one time and that both suspects then fled the area on foot.
The juvenile victim was transported to an area hospital by a private vehicle. The juvenile victim was shot in the groin area and his injuries are not life threatening.
Hot Springs Police used a K-9 to attempt to track the suspects, but were unable to locate the suspects. No arrests have been made at this time. This case remains under investigation.
